Paddle For The Grade
Paddle for the Grade
San Diego Bike & Kayak Tours, Inc. rewards San Diego students for their hard work and well-rounded lifestyles. Paddle to the La Jolla Caves and Ecological Reserve for FREE with our exclusive Paddle for the Grade program.
Attention all San Diego City School Students (Grades 3-12)
Bring in your fall semester report card between January and April, or bring your spring semester report card between June and October. Present your report card at our store, showing that you attended a San Diego City School AND earned an “A” in Math, Science, & Physical Education for a free kayak rental with a parent or guardian!
One legal parent/guardian must accompany the qualifying student with letter “A” grades to receive a complimentary double kayak rental.
Important Information: Be sure to bring the original report card; photocopies will not be accepted. Reservations are required to receive this promotion and only available Monday through Friday. When booking, you must specify Paddle for the Grade. All other family members who want to participate with a qualifying student will receive 20% off rentals or tours on the same day.
Limit one complimentary double kayak rental per student/parent per semester. Reservations are required for participation in “Paddle for the Grade.” Call (858) 454-1010
The “Paddle for the Grade” program is subject to availability and excludes holidays, including July 4th, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Christmas, and other blackout dates. Paddle for the Grade is only valid on weekdays, and excludes all Saturdays & Sundays.
Pedal and Paddle Physical Education Program
Active bodies make for active minds, and it is upon this idea San Diego Bike and Kayak founded Pedal & Paddle Physical Education Program (PPPEP). If you want to make a difference in a San Diego City school, you can promote the means to a healthy lifestyle with this free program. What is PPPEP?
San Diego Bike & Kayak, Inc. would like to proudly partner with your school to promote the benefits of physical education and activity. Help promote the need for athleticism and physical activity in our youth today.
With San Diego Bike & Kayak’s Pedal & Paddle Physical Education Program we will:
- Introduce the sport of ocean kayaking to San Diego City School students
- Promote the unique experience and observations that are only available on a bicycle
- Share alternative opportunities and venues for healthy lifestyles
- Reinforce the idea that exercise and physical activity is fun, enjoyable and helps activate the mind
- Teach environmental awareness and about the unique habitats specific to San Diego and Southern California
Why is PPPEP Important?
There is an overwhelming need for athleticism and physical activity in our youth today. An active, motivated youth will be better equipped to overcome and persevere in the face of challenges, not only in the classroom, but also later on in life.
San Diego is renowned for its favorable weather conditions, making our city a wonderful place for outdoor activity all year. Often San Diego locals do not take advantage of the outdoor amenities that exist in their own backyard with as much excitement as we see from our tourists and visiting guests. We hope to promote outdoor opportunities in San Diego that might otherwise be overlooked, such as biking and kayaking.
